Duze, Swaziland is a rural community near the town of Siphofaneni in central Swaziland.
This rural location has a very high HIV infection rate and large numbers of orphan led homes.
To compound the problem, clean water in rural areas is very difficult to find.
The nearest location to this community for water is the Usutu river, the largest river in Swaziland. Sadly, the water is not safe to fetch or drink for the most vulnerable. In the most recent drought to hit this community, local well water became more difficult to secure as locals came in large numbers for clean water. With occasional downpours of rainwater moving through this area, a water collection & filtration system offers access to thousands of folks who would otherwise resort to unsafe sources to meet their needs. We are currently working to provide a clean water source to the orphans and widows in this AIDS devastated community.
