Where it all starts
The H₂O Coalition strives to strengthen already existing clean water sources and create new ones where they are needed.
We mobilize financial resources, materials, and volunteers
to create localized programs.
We raise money to create a flow of resources
for communities around the world to have access to clean, fresh water.

Global Water Problem
Water is essential to sustaining life and clean water is critical to our health and well-being. It is inextricably tied to global economic and political stability.
With only about 500 river systems and aquifers shared across the world’s borders, access to water will increasingly pose risk of conflict
as this vital resource becomes increasingly scarce.

The Numbers
By 2025, 1.8 billion people are predicted to live where water is scarce.
Only 1% of the world’s water is available to supply 7.4 billion people. Nearly 70% of
these freshwater resources are used for agriculture alone. |
Today, nearly 800 million people do not
have access to clean drinking water and 2.5 billion people lack access to basic sanitation. |
In addition to the underlying problem of expanding demand, water is increasingly unpredictable.
Climate variations create unbalance. Around the globe, systems of water-retrieval
infrastructure are unstable and can be toppled overnight.
With temperatures projected to rise at least another 3.8ºF by the end of the century, arid climates are expecting the precious little rain and soil moisture they get to become even scarcer.
Increased evaporation and sparse rainfall place pressure on already overdrawn groundwater.
Creatively deployed, sustainable solutions could preserve economic and social balance, sparing more
than 1 billion people the extreme hardship that lack of adequate water will inflict.

Strong Foundations
We pursue projects with the best opportunity for ongoing success and local ability and willingness to sustain the effort. We require a sustainable fiscal structure be in place to continue the mission managed by the local stakeholders.
Local training and entrepreneurial programs can be seeded during
the implementation phase to help identify and recruit individuals capable of
operating and funding ongoing projects.

to provide sustainable water solutions.
